Hello

My name is Katalina Salas, I have a Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso. I am currently a CIELO-G post-doc fellow at UTEP where I will focus on geoscience education and transformation. My passion for traveling and providing education to my community has led me to sit on the board of directors for La Semilla and the Association for Women Geoscientists.

I plan to continue exploring the world and sharing my knowledge with my community. I hope to foster curiosity and a sense of caring for Earth in our future leaders. I want them to connect to the bees, flowers, the oceans, and the mountains as much as I do!

 

Mi nombre es Katalina Salas, tengo un Ph.D. en Ciencias e Ingeniería Ambientales de la Universidad de Texas en El Paso. Actualmente soy becario postdoctoral CIELO-G en UTEP, donde me centraré en la educación y transformación de las geociencias. Mi pasión por viajar y brindar educación a mi comunidad me ha llevado a formar parte de la junta directiva de La Semilla y ser la embajadora de Texas del GREEN Program.

 

Planeo seguir explorando el mundo y compartiendo mis conocimientos con mi comunidad. Espero fomentar la curiosidad y el sentido de cuidar la Tierra en nuestros futuros líderes. ¡Quiero que se conecten con las abejas, las flores, los océanos y las montañas tanto como yo!
